Published March 18, 2016

Small crossover vehicles have become big business with their fuel efficiency, cargo space, and attractive pricing, and the 2015 Chevrolet Trax has all that to offer and more. The friendly and knowledgeable sales staff at Wallace Chevrolet in Stuart, FL, serving the communities of Port St. Lucie, Palm City, White City and Jupiter, are ready for you to come visit our showroom. We'd like to give you a tour of the 2015 Trax and send you home in one today!

Let's see how the 2015 Chevy Trax stacks up to the Buick Encore.

First introduced in 2013, the Chevy Trax is well-designed, nimble and easy-to-handle. The 2015 Trax is equipped with a 1.4-liter ECOTEC Turbo, 138hp engine that will seamlessly take you where you need to go. A FWD 6-speed automatic transmission is also standard, which will help you navigate through inclement Florida weather or while traveling on rough terrain. The Encore comes with the same engine, as the car is built on the same platform and is mechanically identical to the Trax. However, the Trax, due to being a bit lighter, gets slightly better gas mileage with a combined city/highway estimated 29 mpg while the Encore gets a combined 28 mpg.

Available in three trims -- the LS, LT, and LTZ, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax is aimed to please everyone. 16-inch aluminum wheels come standard on the LS and LT trims while the LTZ adds another 2 inches to its radius with standard 18-inch aluminum wheels. Halogen headlights are also featured, as well as an optional power sunroof on the LT and LTZ. Inside the well-appointed cabin is a laundry-list of upscale features including Chevrolet MyLink with a 7-inch touch screen, including Bluetooth, a 6-speaker audio system (7-speaker Bose is standard on the LTZ), steering wheel with audio and phone controls, OnStar with 4G LTE and rear-view camera. The LT and LTZ trims add a remote vehicle starter system and 110 volt power outlet, amongst other standard and optional features. The Encore comes with similar features at a premium price.

There's a huge price difference between the 2015 Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore, and that might be because the Encore is touted as a "luxury" small crossover. However, the 2015 Trax is nothing to sneeze at in the features department (as shown above), so it makes it's starting MSRP of $20,120 even more attractive, especially when compared to the Encore's starting price of $24,065.That's almost a $4,000 difference for cars built on the same platform! If you're looking to keep money in your pocket and still get a great little crossover, the 2015 Chevrolet Trax is the vehicle for you.
